Gay Marriage
Gay rights movement began nearly 50 years ago. It began with the same sex union during ancient time. In 1924, Chicago's human rights of the society known as the first movement of gay marriage. The movement was concerning legal same sex marriages in country or in countries states. The event began 1924 until 2015 after all the movement same sex marriages become legal. Well, here is some event and facts that follow by these years and now let’s see about California same sex marriage movement and The Supreme Court of American Government decision.
U.S. State of California became legal same sex marriage in June 16, 2008. But after that Supreme Court of California had an issuing same sex marriage due to from marriage violated the state’s constitution. On August 4, 2010 to February 7, 2012 U.S. District Court declared Proposition 8 which is a violation of the due progress and equal protection clauses of the U.S. Constitution but the decision upheld by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ninth Circuit decision was same as the district court but it was on narrower ground. When, “The court ruled that it was unconstitutional for California to grant marriage rights to same-sex couples” (Wikipedia) The court decided Proposition 8 didn’t have legal standing of appeal, the case returned and dismisses the Prop 8 sponsor’s appeal. The issues been taken until June 28, 2013 after that day same sex marriages were able to resume. But this is not the end.
Every state's haven’t establish their legal same sex marriage. 37 states legalized marriage equality and 13 states cannot stand. Under the 10th Amendment The Constitution is silent on marriage laws which people saying the states keep the power to regulate it. Justice Kennedy is the nation’s most important judicial champion of gay rights. He said, “Marriage is a keystone of our social order” and this is one of the inspiration quote. As a 2015 The Supreme Court of American Government passed same sex marriage in all 50 states on June 26, 2015.
Although the conclusion brought conflict between Christians and U.S.Constitution. The Supreme Court ruling didn’t directly address how pastors, churches, and individual Christians view the issue of same sex marriage. Adam Hamilton is a writer and he said, “The Court is not asked to discern God’s will, or what constitutes ethical or moral behavior for christians.” I think the writer against the same sex marriage based on Bible. Christianity questioning the U.S.Constitution that aren’t we determine their morals from public opinion polls? But minority opinion couldn’t beat majority opinion.
From one of majority opinion Obergefell said, “Our love is equal” yes I agree about this quote but personally man to man can have love between them as a friend not like a marriage. Based on what God said about same sex marriage, “Do not have sexual relations with a man as
one with a woman; that is detestable.” (Leviticus 18:22) and here is another one, “Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the Kingdom of god? Do not be deceived:Neither the
sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men.” (1 Corinthians 6:9) I believe this is a sin against God.
From my perspective I just want to do what it’s right and what it’s right for the nation. I just don’t understand about same sex marriage and I don’t really use to have this movement in my country or situation. Everything was new and still have it. I haven’t use to American culture and I have a lot of question.
